Universitas Indonesia qualifies for QIUP WUPID 2017 with a win at WUPID Indonesia.

Universitas Indonesia (UI) booked a place at QIUP WUPID 2017 together with the highest ranking team – Gadjah Mada University (UGM), after winning WUPID Indonesia last week. The event was held at Sampoerna University and was organised by WUPID’s Indonesian partners, bicara.co.

The Organising Chairman, Daniel Hasni said: “We’re very pleased to be able to revive the ‘WUPID National Qualifiers’ with our Indonesian partners – bicara.co. This initiative, which provides participation opportunity for institutions from other regions, is an essential feature to WUPID as it allows for a more diversified view of peace and social justice. We are currently talking to potential partners in Africa, Middle East, East Asia, South Asia and South America for WUPID in 2018.”

Invited institution for QIUP WUPID are primarily from Oceania, North America, Europe and Southeast Asia. Apart from UI and UGM, teams that have confirmed their participation at QIUP WUPID 2017 are University of Oxford, University of Sydney, London School of Economics, Ateneo De Manila, International Islamic University Malaysia and many more.

A representative from bicara.co said: “We are very happy to hear that WUPID is coming back after a long absence. We are also very grateful to the co-founders as well as their new sponsors – QIUP, for trusting us once again in organising a WUPID National in Indonesia.”
